If you decide to keep your server systems on your own premises, they are virtualized individually on a physical host. That means low purchasing costs for the hardware, while allowing for extremely flexible use of virtual server systems on a physical server. Because of the processing power that is now available on today’s servers, you can run multiple virtual machines on a single physical host. Until a few years ago, each server system still needed its own hardware. Introducing new law-firm software means a significant and sensitive intervention in your firm’s process landscape. It often completely changes all of the main work areas, from time recording and client administration using the DMS to invoicing. Together with our partner for IT process security and data protection, InfiniSafe GmbH, our consultants analyze your current business processes and IT infrastructure. These analyses provide the basis for creating your functional specifications. They also organize the targeted product selection, develop proposals for a transformation process, and help introduce the new law-firm solution if desired. We are also completely product and platform-neutral – every law firm has its own main focuses, and the products should be designed accordingly.
Nonetheless, SBIT AG has had a great deal of experience with the process and IT landscapes of German law firms for nearly 20 years. Using this knowledge, our partner Scaled Efficiency GmbH worked with a large law firm with activities throughout Germany to develop a law-firm solution that is perfectly tailored to the needs of the modern law firm. The commercial area is also integrated for business management.
Time recording, invoicing and controlling not only cost your law firm a lot of time, but are also highly susceptible to error. The solution? Track2Bill (T2B). This software was developed specifically for law firms in collaboration with attorneys, and can be programmed for individual requirements.
T2B is used for time recording and also serves as an accounting assistant. The software provides support for employee and client administration, and includes various controlling tools. The tools are combined into a single application, so many processes are linked and run automatically. A huge plus: after just 15 minutes of training, your employees will be proficient in using the software.

Backup & Recovery
Onpremise or Cloud
With our backup solutions, you can always count on the security of your data. We rely on our partner Veeam Software GmbH, an enterprise provider of backup solutions that specializes in securing data from virtual server systems. Naturally, this process can also be used to back up and restore conventional, non-virtual servers.
Typically, the backup is configured so that entire server systems can be restored within minutes with just a few clicks. Individual elements can also be reconstructed from the backups (e.g. individual emails from inboxes or individual files) within just a few minutes.
Did you accidentally delete an email? Not a problem – we can retrieve it very easily from the most recent backup. A little while later, the email will show up in your inbox again. Restoring files from your file server is just as quick.
You can breathe easily again – it’s that simple.
When it comes to backup strategies, one method is the traditional “backup to tape,” where you can deposit tapes in a safety deposit box, say, at specified intervals – weekly, biweekly or monthly, for example. If necessary, an older backup can then be uploaded again. One benefit: it helps you meet potential archiving obligations.
A more modern version is “backup to disk,” which uses hard drives as the archiving medium. The benefit here is faster backup and recovery. The systems let you replace and archive data carriers just as flexibly as with backup to tape.
The most modern option is “backup to cloud,” where your data is copied into our highly available SBIT data center via an encrypted line and protected from all external influences. If necessary, your data can be restored to your server systems using the same encrypted line. If you need to meet archiving obligations, backup to cloud can be supplemented by a local backup, allowing you to combine the best of both worlds and safeguard your company. Even in extreme cases, all of the data will very quickly be available again.

What does IT mean for medium-sized companies? Ideally, it provides a reliable working basis that makes things easier for employees and contributes to the company’s success. In reality, though, it is often a source of irritation, a frustrating waste of time and money. This can be due to a manpower shortage, insufficient know-how within the company, or simply a lack of time among IT decision-makers to think about the latest IT developments and options.
The solution is SBIT. As a provider of comprehensive IT solutions, we handle the IT for you and leave you free to focus on your core business. Which tasks we will handle is totally up to you. We normally take over the role of your internal IT department, and we advise, train and support you and your employees thanks to our knowledge and experience providing long-term support to more than 100 medium-sized companies.
As a managed service provider, we are responsible for providing all of your IT services. Often, our customers also have their own server and storage infrastructures, which are kept either at the local sites or – more and more often – in our partner’s data center.
We use a joint service contract to define SLAs, for instance on response and recovery times, central ServiceDesk IT support (available 24/7), disaster recovery tests, our own team of technicians, joiner and leaver processes, and much more. We monitor your entire IT infrastructure and all of the components in our monitoring system, and secure all of the endpoints and the firewall using Sophos Central.
Starting in Q3 2018, it will also be possible to book every imaginable IT service and desktop through SBIT AG without a separate infrastructure, on a “price per user” basis, which will make a complete work environment available for companies with up to 50 users without any separate hardware.

With our partner MK Netzdienste GmbH & Co. KG, we offer a professional data center environment for proprietary infrastructures in Frankfurt – with secure solutions that are tailored to your needs.
Connection and infrastructure data centers now make up the bulk of our products and services. Our standards for a high-performance network structure are correspondingly high, with enough bandwidth and a high level of availability to ensure a smooth exchange of data.
Within Frankfurt, the two MK data centers are connected to the InterXion and Equinix data centers via an n x 10-GBit/s-ring. Das ermöglicht eine ausfallsichere Verbindung zu den dort befindlichen Netzzusammenschaltungen (z.B. DE-CIX). Diese redundante Ringstruktur garantiert höchste Betriebssicherheit und schützt vor Ausfällen. Together with our service-contract customers, in addition to ongoing stocktaking and license administration, we also develop standards for client workstation procurement as well as employee equipment, and we implement those standards for the customers. That significantly reduces their administrative and startup costs, and it creates planning security and transparency.
